Sell your old mobile - economically and sustainably
reNewed, a leader in the reused and refurbished mobile phone sector, is pleased to announce the launch of a new service where customers can now sell their old mobile phones. This service is launched as part of reNewed’s continued efforts to promote a circular economy and reduce the environmental impact that mobile phone production can cause.
With this new service, reNewed encourages everyone with an unused mobile phone to think about both the environment and their wallet. By selling their old devices, customers can contribute to reducing waste while also getting financial value back. Research has shown that over 95% of all mobile phones sold in Sweden can be reused, which means that most mobile phones lying around unused at home can provide financial and environmental benefits.
The environmental benefits are significant. By reusing a mobile phone, up to 30 kilograms of CO2 emissions can be saved, which is a significant reduction compared to the production of a brand new device. In addition, despite the small size of a mobile phone, the production of a single device generates up to 86 kilograms of waste, much of this from the mining of metals.
