When talking about used mobile phones, they usually refer to phones that are resold between private individuals, often without testing, documentation or warranty. That is the definition that most people think of and that is why the word used is so established in everyday language.

At reNewed, used means something completely different.

All our phones, regardless of condition, always undergo a full functional check by technicians before being sold. If necessary, we refurbish the device, for example by replacing the screen, components, advanced cleaning and cosmetic improvements. 

We still use the word used because it is the expression that most people recognize and search for, even though the process behind it corresponds to something more extensive.

In short: When you buy a used mobile phone from reNewed, you are not getting a mobile phone from the private market. You are getting a professionally tested, documented and quality-assured device that is ready for a new long life.
