Terms of Sale Trade-In Renewed AB
These terms and conditions apply when you, as a private individual, sell a device to Renewed AB ("Renewed"). If you represent a company or other legal entity, please contact us at kontakt@renewed.se.
We recommend that you read the terms and conditions before completing the sale. By agreeing to the terms and conditions and submitting your device, you agree to these terms and conditions of sale.
Renewed reserves the right to accept or decline a purchase in accordance with these terms and conditions.
1. The seller
To sell a device to Renewed, you must be 18 years of age or older. By selling a device to Renewed, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age.
You also confirm that:
- you are the rightful owner of the device and have full rights to sell it and receive payment for it,
- the device is not stolen, lost or otherwise unauthorized, and
- the device is not subject to any restrictions that prevent or may prevent Renewed from using or reselling the device.
You are responsible for providing complete and accurate contact and payment information.
Renewed has the right to request additional information or documentation to verify your identity and your right to sell the device. This may include a purchase receipt or other documentation proving ownership.
If requested information or documents are not provided within 14 days, Renewed has the right to cancel the purchase and return the device to you.
2. Valuation and sale
The preliminary price that Renewed offers for your device is valid for 14 days from the date the offer is made.
The price is based on the information about model, condition, function and other characteristics that you provide in connection with the valuation.
If the device has not been received by Renewed within 14 days, Renewed has the right to make a new valuation based on the current market value of the device.
Once Renewed has received the device, an inspection will be conducted. By sending in the device, you agree that Renewed may examine and test it to check, among other things:
- model and specification,
- function,
- cosmetic condition,
- battery,
- IMEI or serial number,
- any account or operator locks,
- previous repairs or replaced components, and
- other circumstances that may affect the value or resaleability of the unit.
If the unit matches the information you provided, the offered price applies.
If the unit deviates from the information you provided, Renewed has the right to adjust the price. You will then receive a new final offer and can choose to:
- accept the new offer, or
- decline the offer and have the device returned at no extra cost.
3. Shipping and liability
You are responsible for ensuring that the device is packaged in a safe and appropriate manner for transport.
Renewed may provide and pay for the shipping bill for the shipment to Renewed. Renewed providing or paying for the shipping does not mean that Renewed assumes the risk for the device during the shipment.
If you send your device by mail, courier or other carrier, you are responsible for the device until the shipment is received undamaged by Renewed, even if Renewed provides or pays for the shipping.
Risk for the device passes to Renewed only when the shipment has been received undamaged by Renewed. Renewed is therefore not responsible for devices that are lost, damaged or otherwise lost during transport to Renewed.
If a shipment is lost or damaged during transport, Renewed, once the transport has been booked through Renewed, can assist the seller in making a claim to the carrier. This does not mean that Renewed assumes the risk of the shipment or guarantees that compensation will be paid.
If Renewed receives compensation from the carrier for a unit that has been lost or damaged during transport to Renewed, the compensation attributable to the unit shall accrue to the seller.
When Renewed returns a device to you, Renewed assumes the risk of the device during return transportation.
Packages may contain a maximum of two (2) units. For more units, separate shipments must be used.
Do not send with original packaging, SIM cards, memory cards, charging cables, chargers or other accessories unless specifically agreed. Renewed is not responsible for accessories sent with the device and such accessories will not normally be returned.
4. Ownership
Renewed's receipt of the device does not in itself mean that the purchase is complete.
The unit is received for inspection and testing in accordance with these terms and conditions. Until the purchase is approved and completed, ownership remains with the seller.
If the device matches the information provided and Renewed approves the device, the purchase is completed and ownership is transferred to Renewed.
If Renewed makes a revised offer, ownership will only transfer once you have accepted the revised offer.
If the purchase is not completed, the device will be returned to you according to these terms.
5. Accounts, Lockouts, and Personal Content
Before sending the device to Renewed, you are responsible for:
- back up information you want to keep,
- log out of and delete personal accounts,
- turn off features such as Find/Find My,
- remove Apple ID, Google account, and other activation or account locks,
- remove SIM card and memory card, and
- restore the device according to Renewed's instructions.
Renewed does not purchase devices that are locked to an Apple, Google, or other user account in a way that prevents recovery, use, or resale.
If the device is account locked, Renewed may provide you with the opportunity to remove the lock. If the lock is not removed within the time period specified by Renewed, Renewed has the right to cancel the purchase and return the device.
Renewed is not responsible for any personal information, images, files, or other content left on the device when it is shipped. Therefore, you are responsible for backing up any information you wish to keep before shipping the device.
6. Blacklisted, blocked, and MDM-locked devices
Renewed does not purchase devices that are blacklisted, reported stolen or lost, or that are MDM locked in a way that prevents free use or resale.
If the device is suspected of being stolen, lost or otherwise illegally accessed, Renewed has the right to withhold payment while the ownership and circumstances are investigated.
You are responsible for providing documentation proving your right to the device upon request, such as a purchase receipt or other relevant documentation.
If the issue cannot be resolved, Renewed has the right to terminate the transaction and, where warranted, hand over the data and/or the device to the relevant authority or other competent party in accordance with applicable law.
If the device is blacklisted, blocked, or reported stolen or lost after Renewed has completed the purchase, and the reason is related to conditions that existed before the sale, Renewed has the right to demand a refund of the consideration paid for the device.
If the device is MDM locked, Renewed has the right to cancel the purchase and return the device, provided that there is no reason to handle the device in another way by law.
7. Subscription, financing and third party rights
You are responsible for ensuring that the device can be resold and used without restrictions resulting from agreements with the operator, retailer, credit provider or other third party.
The device must not be subject to conditions or rights that mean that it can be blocked, seized, repossessed or otherwise rendered unusable after sale.
This does not prevent you from selling a device that was purchased with a subscription or that is still being paid for, for example, through installment payments or an increased monthly fee, provided that outstanding payments or other obligations cannot affect Renewed's ownership, use, or ability to resell the device.
You are also responsible after the sale for any payment obligations arising from agreements you have entered into with the operator, retailer, credit provider or other third party.
If, after purchase, the device is blocked, seized, repossessed or otherwise no longer usable or resold due to circumstances relating to the time prior to the sale, Renewed has the right to demand a refund of the consideration paid for the device.
8. Payment
Payment is based on the condition, function, and price of the unit determined after Renewed's inspection.
If the device matches the information you provided, the agreed amount will be paid.
If Renewed makes a revised offer, payment will only be made after you have accepted the new offer.
Payment is normally made within 1-3 business days after the device has been approved and the purchase has been completed.
You are responsible for ensuring that the payment information provided to Renewed is complete and accurate.
Renewed is not responsible for delays or incorrect payments due to you providing incorrect or incomplete payment information.
9. Personal data
Renewed processes personal data to be able to carry out and administer the sale, communicate with you, carry out necessary checks and comply with legal obligations.
The processing takes place in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including GDPR.

10. Limitation of liability and force majeure
Renewed is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising in connection with the sale, to the extent such limitation of liability is permitted by applicable law.
Renewed is not liable for delays or failure to fulfill its obligations when this is due to circumstances beyond Renewed's reasonable control, such as government action, war, extensive operational or communication disruptions, natural disasters, labor disputes or other comparable circumstances.
The limitations of liability in these terms and conditions do not apply to the extent otherwise provided by mandatory law.
11. Acceptance of the terms and conditions
By agreeing to these terms and conditions and submitting the device to Renewed, you confirm that you have read and accepted the terms of sale.
These terms and conditions apply to the Trade-In transaction between you and Renewed AB.
